Linens of Love Association (“LOLA”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in an effort to support those who provide services to survivors of domestic violence in Oklahoma Indian Country. LOLA supplies essential items—primarily sheets and towels—to domestic violence shelters serving Native communities.
Recently, board members Valerie Devol and Joan Green took to the road, visiting five domestic violence service offices throughout the region. Each stop included the delivery of gift bags filled with linens and informational materials about the organization's mission and future goals.
Currently, LOLA focuses on providing sheet sets and towels—a need that most shelters consistently have. The organization plans to expand its services to include hygiene items and baby supplies to better meet the complex needs of the families seeking assistance.
To support this expansion and improve distribution planning, LOLA is actively gathering data from shelters about their needs. Knowing how many sheet sets a shelter typically requires is essential as LOLA begins to build a long-term strategy for donations, inventory, and future grant applications.
As the organization works toward this next chapter, LOLA invites community members, businesses, and philanthropists to support their mission. Whether through financial contributions, donations of linens, or partnerships with local suppliers, every effort makes a difference.
For shelters and service providers interested in connecting with LOLA—or for supporters looking to contribute—more information is available by contacting the organization directly at info@oklalola.org.
